Senior Event Manager
 

A rare opportunity now exists to work at a senior level within one of Australia's most well respected and successful Boutique Meetings and Event management Companies.
 
This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Event specialist who is looking to be involved in a creative, dynamic and supportive team environment. 
 
We are looking for a highly motivated and confident Event Manager to support the Account Director in running a newly acquired Major Account.  You will have the ability to manage multiple projects and juggle priorities as well as being able to think on your feet and use your initiative. Being a true team player is absolutely key to this role combined with a high attention to detail, strong PC skills and an ingenious mindset.
 
Further career advancement is a definite over time if you are able to prove yourself within this role.
 
As an Event Manager you will be responsible for interacting with new and existing suppliers. Daily duties will include working with the client to come up with event solutions, ensuring flawless execution and organised delivery of all events attached to the account along with the coordination of the many varied requirements of each event.   You will sit on project teams for large events and manage relationships with the client.  You will be well supported by an event co-ordinator in this role.

Core Requirements
 
  • At least 3 years’ experience in conference and event management.
  • Proven initiative and resourcefulness
  • Able to take responsibility as our interface with the client
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Email
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of client and colleagues (from Admin Assistants to the CEO)
  • Good time and work load manager
  • Keen sense of humour
  • Ability to manage stress and to achieve life/work balance
  • Committed to never settling for second best

This is a challenging opportunity for an Events specialist to be involved in the co-ordination of events within this highly successful Boutique Event Management Agency.  It is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure from the “ground up” and you will be working as part of a team of experienced professionals.

This is a junior role and we are looking for a highly motivated and confident Event Co-ordinator to support our team of senior Event Managers. You will have the ability to carry your own work load, think on your feet and use your initiative. Being a true team player is absolutely key to this role combined with a high attention to detail, strong PC skills and an ingenious mindset.

Career advancement exists with the potential to move into an operational event management role over time if you are able to prove yourself within this role.

As the Events Coordinator you will be responsible for interacting with new and existing suppliers. Daily duties will include working with registrations (travel, accommodation and transfers), liaising internally and externally with suppliers prior to an event to ensure a flawless and organised delivery of an event along with the coordination of the many varied requirements of each event.

Meeting Specialist - Australia

You will be responsible for delivering value to internal Merck customers by being the conduit between the Event Lead, Procurement, Information Services, and third party providers. Developing and managing strategic initiatives including corporate card products that tie in with Global Spend targets, hotel compliance for meetings, group air, ground transport business rules and processes, lead support for end-users, support of customer service and communications, development of reporting initiatives.
 

To be successful in this role you will need:
 
  • A minimum of 5 years experience managing meetings, travel or other corporate services through third party providers or equivalent experience.
  • To be a self motivated and strong communication, presentation, analytical and decision-making skills essential.
  • A proven ability to manage/work with teams in global environment. 
  • Proven success with little-to-no supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in managing or being a part of change/projects in large, complex, environments.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks, track and manage related activities. 
  • Effective influencing skills and the ability to build strong partnerships both internally and externally essential. 
  • Six sigma training or green or black belt qualification a plus.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical related Meetings advantageous
