The e-awards – the awards devised for the Australian events industry – were created in 2007 to showcase the special events industry in Australia.
Events are a fast-growing segment of business and yet there are still many working in the corporate world who do not understand the benefits they have for the business and general community. By establishing a platform like the e-awards where great events are celebrated the aim is to "spread the word" to a wider audience who may, potentially, consider utilising more events in their day-to-day operations.

The e-awards gives business owners, marketers, corporates, and those working in the events industry a tangible opportunity to receive recognition for the hard work they do. Further, it also gives them the opportunity to give thanks to their staff, associates and clients.
The e-awards, created by BT Publishing Pty Ltd, are not for profit, with money raised from entry fees given to charity. Each award is judged independently of BT Publishing.
