WHAT YOU DID: Staging Connections Gold Coast recently teamed up with venue partner Conrad Jupiters to stage the Hi Events Famil; an event designed to promote Staging Connections and Conrad Jupiters’ venue partnership to a small group of VIP corporate clients jointly hosted by general manager of Conrad Jupiters, Vince King and general manager of Staging Connections, Kim Cassidy.
The “Temple of Fire” theme developed by Staging Connections focused on an ancient tribal temple hidden in a mystical forest, combined with lost explorers, magical trees that move, a princess and tribal chief, tribal drummers and dancers. Guests were provided with pith helmet on arrival. Once they had “explored” the hotel, guests proceeded to the gallery for pre-dinner drinks and canapés. During the drinks, two wayward explorers (both actors) trudged towards the group and proceeded to explain the legend of the lost temple of fire. After a short time, and many laughs, the explorers invited guests to join them for the rest of their journey to find the temple.

The venue for the ‘Temple of Fire’ was Conrad Jupiters’ Coolangatta room. Staging Connections transformed the entrance into a narrow track that led to a dense jungle. Entertainment and commentary was a major feature of this event and on reaching the track, explorers warned fellow adventurers of strange happenings in the jungle and of trees that come to life to protect the temple. The group moved into the room and a few screams were heard as the trees, complete with stilt performers in costume, came to life. Then the explorers found a cave that led into the temple and guests moved through into the main room which featured a large dining table running down the length of the room dressed in black linen with leopard print overlays and chair bands. Pineapple trees, a tribal mask, clay bowls and candles adorned the table. Adding to the atmosphere of the room were dense plants, rock formations and shields, while the entire ceiling was masked with camouflage netting with vines and plant-life.

CLIENT’S COMMENT: “The room looked fantastic and I know there was much positive talk about Staging Connections’ ability to create and produce such an evening. I look forward to working with them on continuing to develop the business relationship between Conrad Jupiters and Staging Connections. It was a great evening for our respective businesses and definitely a good model for future events where we have the opportunity to host qualified conferencing buyers.” – Vince King, general manager - hotel, Conrad Jupiters.
