There’s no doubt, 2006 has been an exciting year for The Byron at Byron Resort, Spa and Conference Centre.

Being the only five-star Resort and Conference Centre in the Byron Bay area, the resort has given MICE groups a wonderful reason to visit the beautiful Byron Bay region, and to discover first hand what makes Byron Bay so unique and special.

The opening of the additional thirty accommodation suites during 2006 has brought room capacity to a total of 90 suites, which has enabled the Byron at Byron to cater to larger groups and also offer sole use bookings to those wanting a truly “exclusive” resort experience.

Reflecting on the year that was, many highlights spring to mind. Here are just a few…
Largest group:
160 delegates - Frucor Beverages, New Zealand

Best themed dinner: “Spirit of Byron” Hippy Dinner – Bausch & Lomb.

Most popular group activity: Sea kayaking with the dolphins & Byron Bay lighthouse tour.

Most exciting event: Coca Cola “Win a Beach House” competition draw.

Unique off-site dinner: “Byron Bay Circus” themed dinner at Circus Arts Byron Bay. During dinner delegates were treated to a world class overhead circus performance.

Unusual request satisfied: Sunset cocktails and canapés at Byron Bay Lighthouse for 90 delegates.

Most elegant dinner: Poolside 7 course degustation dinner overlooking the rainforest.

Best comment: “What can I say!!!! Our event was, in a word FANTASTIC! Everyone raved about the ambience, the food, the service and in particular the staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Congratulations and thank you all so much for a job well done. It was six-star in every aspect. I’m sure many of our guests will become regular visitors.”
