SPECIAL TOUCHES: The Amway logo was fixed to the bottom of the main deck swimming pool, Amway flags flying from all masts, Amway event manager, Renato Fabbro, bought on-board Italian designer labels in Portofino for a private fitting in the Owners’ Suite for a special boutique experience at sea. A special a la carte and buffet lunch was served in port each day featuring local specialities. The chef invited all guests on his shopping rounds in some ports and participants enjoyed wine tastings and sampled local fare, which later appeared on their menus.

Dinners in the beautiful dining room were always special affairs with many of the desserts featuring Amway logos glazed, piped and `toffeed’. The frequent caviar-fests were special moments either around the pool or with cocktails prior to dinner.

The Owners’ Suite was permanently reserved for meetings and all-day conferences could be catered for with morning and afternoon teas and lunches as required. The ship’s public rooms were converted to conference/business space for the many business planning sessions.
As the ship cruised along the Cinque Terra coastline Italian cocktails such as Negrescos were served on deck as an english-speaking guide broadcast a commentary to guests on deck highlighting the beautiful and picturesque villages clinging to the cliffs.

CHALLENGES: There are no challenges working on a ship with a crew to passenger ratio of more than one to one and a client who is a world leader in incentive management.

CLIENT’S COMMENT: “The best trip the Diamonds and Executives have had for 15 years and will be one that will be hard to beat. What I can say though is that the event would not have been as successful if G.E.T. had not been there. Just knowing who to talk to, what to say, when to say it, and what to do to make every experience extra special every minute of the seven days.”
