The Alice Springs Convention Centre houses the versatile MacDonnell Room which can seat up to 1200 delegates, the Ellery Room which can seat up to 450 delegates or be broken down into quarters or halves, and the impressive Ghan Foyer which is the ideal location for registrations, catering stations and pre-dinner drinks.
The convention centre is the ideal conferencing venue in Alice Springs - located under th e majestic MacDonnell Ranges and attached to the 4.5 star Lasseters Hotel Casino. With 140 rooms, bars, restaurants and gaming facilities, the complex has proved itself to be the perfect platform to enjoy the delights that Central Australia has to offer.

IML Australia was delighted to sponsor the MEA National Conference in Alice Springs this year and add its name to a distinguished list of supporters. The event provided us with a valuable opportunity to demonstrate our expertise as the event feedback specialists.
Delegates were provided with electronic keypads giving them the opportunity to submit honest and anonymous feedback by voting or using our text messaging facility.
Formerly Ezicomms, we were able to draw on our extensive experience to ensure that our latest technology was integrated seamlessly into every plenary and break-out session.
Our team at the event, Pete, Gavin, Sandy, Su sie and Ryan, would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the delegates who took the time to submit valuable feedback and those who stopped to visit us at our exhibition stand. Your contributions ensured an enjoyable and successful venture for IML Australia.

Every event needs a touch of inspiration from Staging Connections. Staging Connections has been a proud sponsor of MEA for many years and this year we attended the national conference as a national supporter.
The high regard with which we hold our MEA partnership and the industry as a whole is evidenced by the strength of our team at this year’s national conference. Our MEA conference team came from all over Australia and included Ben Ashton (chief operating officer), Karen Bolinger (director of marketing) and our state general managers. And through our on-the-ground experts at the Alice Springs Convention and Exhibition Centre, where Staging Connections is the official venue services partner, we were able to demonstrate first hand the expertise and professionalism of our event staging team to the events industry.
Staging Connections has been a significant supplier of event and audio-visual exper tise to the events industry for over 20 years. Our partnership with MEA demonstrates our commitment to the industry… a commitment that we share with our employees through rigorous training and development programs so that in turn they can deliver flawless events with a touch of inspiration time and time again.

Ovations International was proud to once again be a Diamond Sponsor of the MEA National Conference. Ovations provided support by sourcing some of the professional speaker content of the conference. They were: Anh Do as MC; Penny Burke on employment engagement and employing passion not experience; Kim McKay on the difference you can make to the environment and the green debate; and Chris Helder on how to stop selling and start connecting with your clients.
Every presenter provided by Ovations were highly regarded by delegates at the conference.
Ovations International has two decades of events experience to bring to the fore when proposing presenters. We manage no exclusive names – which means who we propose for your event is based on your required outcomes and detailed requirements only. We look forward to finding the perfect presenter for your next event.

It was our pleasure to join the honourable list of MEA sponsors for the 2008 National Conference held in Alice Springs. mice.net and eventconnect.com were able to assist with marketing initiatives, editorial reports and sponsor recognition. Working closely with MEA during the lead up stages was a real eye-opener having realised the huge effort that goes into organising an event of this nature, particularly within our own industry when we are surrounded by experts.
mice.net magazine, containing the MEA newsletter is Australia’s leading and only award-winning meetings events magazine and takes pride in maintaining its editorial integrity by publishing gutsy, hard-hitting and often controversial news and lead stories.
EventConnect.com venue & service search, also produced as a high-quality, hard-copy publication with case studies and inspiring articles, provides buyers with a comprehensive directory while the dynamic online version incorporates the very latest ‘web 2.0’ technology to deliver personalised content, social networking and a range of time saving tools.
