Commenting on the judging of the awards, one of the three judges, David Grant of David Grant Special Events, said he was looking for what the event organisers had done differently.
David said it was a given, for example, that event organisers could put on an awards night, but how they set it apart and made it different was what he was looking for during the judging process.
BT Publishing managing director, Helen Batt-Rawden, said the awards were created in an effort to raise the profile of the special events industry in Australia.
“Savvy marketers, registered charities, experienced special event practitioners and even Government recognise the value effectively managed and executed events can have, but there are still plenty of corporates out there who don’t,” she said.
“We want to help raise the profile of the events industry in Australia and at the same time recognise excellence in this segment.”
Winners now have the opportunity to display the e-awards 2007 logo on their marketing collateral, including their website.
Winners and runners’ up in each category will have their events profiled in an upcoming edition of mice.net magazine.
