
EventConnect.com has led the way as a venue and service search tool with unique features such as the online enquiry system that allows event organisers to send a single enquiry form directly to multiple suppliers in one go. The event organiser can monitor the responses online in real time or be notified by email alerts. The system is even clever enough to fax the client’s enquiry to the venues or services that have not met the requested response time.
EventConnect.com managing director, Steve Coombes says when the site was launched four years ago some of the suppliers were slow to respond and the automated fax notification was indeed a key part of ensuring that the client received a response in a timely manner.
“Now that suppliers are use to working with the online enquiry system we see most enquiries responded to within an hour or two. The automated fax notification still remains an important feature when the sales staff are away from their desk for a period of time,” he says.

• Download floor plans and other information e.g. conference kits directly from the venue or services listing page.
“It’s important to acknowledge that the conference rates displayed in the search results are designed to act as a general guide for buyers as there are many variables that require the suppliers to prepare a tailored proposal,” Mr Coombes says.
