NAME: Champions Reward Program
TYPE: Internal incentive and reward program
CLIENT: Telecommunications company
BY: Adrenalin
NO. ON ORGANISING TEAM: Three
PAX: 40 per quarter
BUDGET: Top secret

WHAT YOU DID: A client came to us with the issue of retention of staff within their B2B sales team. With today’s difficult labour market and constant challenge for keeping and finding skilled staff (particularly within telecommunications), our client needed a solution that worked within their culture and set them apart from their competitors. The brief was for something different. Something with energy that wasn’t predictable. They needed a solution developed including mechanics, structure, redemption model, staff interaction tools and communication program. It needed to build loyalty to their business and reward staff for a job well done.

The solution was the Champions Reward Program. An incentive program that has a quarterly reward component aimed at building and maintaining motivation throughout the year by celebrating the accomplishments of high achievers. There is then an end of year incentive available for the 20 highest performing individuals. Last year, this event was in Queenstown, NZ with identified individuals and their partners. They experienced everything NZ had to offer. In a week they were flying, driving, boating, jumping, rafting and partying. They had exclusive use of restaurants with fantastic food, wine and entertainment. This year, they will be experiencing Hong Kong and Macau.

The program is designed to reward staff with innovative, customised adventure events that integrate company values and team development components. The benefit of the quarterly components is the ability to keep the individuals enthused, rewarded along the way and to maintain focus on meeting their targets throughout the year, not just at the financial year end. Of the 160 people who participate in the quarterly activities annually, only 20 qualify for the end of year experience.

CHALLENGES: A broad demographic of delegates meant that all challenges needed to be exciting yet within the physical capabilities of all who participated. Keeping this in mind, Adrenalin created challenges that were adventurous but more importantly, required teams to collaborate and share information in order to perform well.
