What did you want to be when you grew up: A professional dancer. Your first job: Worked part -time on the Neighbours set (let’s just say Kylie and Jason had big hair). Your first pay packet: Small change. Your first break: Being offered a role at the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas over 1000 other applicants. Describe your current role: The main focus of my role is to oversee and achieve the MICE budget! The best part of your job: Establishing long-term relationships with clients and meeting people from all backgrounds. The ability to travel the world, and being able to stay at other luxurious Langham properties. The worst: Not enough hours in the day to be able to touch base with all of the people I really want to stay connected with. Who has inspired you: Katie Benson, MD of The Langham Melbourne. She is a living legend in hotel management and an amazing mentor for women moving into management. Your best quality: Energy and loyalty. Your worst: Perfectionist and being too honest – it gets me into trouble! Your best achievement: Working my way up the various levels of a five-star hotel. Where do you want to be in 10 years’ time: Happy, fit and healthy with a family. Your likes about the MICE industries: The amazing people I have met. Your dislikes: Not being able to accommodate all the business I would like to!
