You’d be hard pressed to find someone who would give up a delicious spa treatment. That said, there are people who don’t mind spas, and then there are people who are truly what you would call “spa people” – they would rather spend their entire savings on a week-long massage in a calming setting surrounded by clean towels, soothing music and essential oils than invest in something more sensible and adult, like a house or shares. Spa people would give their left fuzzy slipper for a few hours of spa-style indulgence, and what better time to give them the opportunity than during a busy conference or meeting?
When it comes to golf, the situation is very similar. There are people who don’t mind a bit of golf and then there are those who are considered “golf people” – the type who are up at the crack of dawn each Saturday morning (when everyone else is sleeping) to lug their clubs around the greens while showing off their new golf pants and debating whether 9am is too early for the first beer of the day. These people would give their best putter for a good 18-hole slog, so imagine their excitement when they realise they can do so mid-conference to ease their brain-strain?
While your delegates may not be as passionate as golf people or spa people (or a rare hybrid of both), there’s every chance that they will be more than happy to participate in one or the other just for the experience.
A bit of indulgence never goes astray at a conference, so the offer of a massage will be well received by delegates wanting to wind down.
And even if they don’t enjoy golf, they might like the idea of driving around in those little carts, battling bumps and humps on the green while racing a fellow golfer to the next hole (or the most-anticipated 19th hole (read pub)).
So why not offer your delegates the choice of opting for a spa treatment or a round of golf? Even better, you could hold a conference or event at a resort venue which provides both options, giving delegates the freedom to select a little from column A (golf) and a little from column B (spa)!
We’ve found some properties which boast one experience or the other, and a number that are fortunate enough to offer both, plus conference facilities and accommodation catering to a wide range of function sizes.
