
The Melbourne Showgrounds opened its doors to key industry players recently for an exclusive tour of the state-of-the-art facilities in what is Melbourne’s newest venue. The event allowed the opportunity to showcase the innovative transformation that the venue has recently undergone, plus to introduce newly-appointed general manager, Ian McDonald. Groups were taken in coaches (to save the ladies walking in heels) at five of the 18 venues, and then reassembled for more drinks and nibbles. Medical Meetings has launched Face to Face Event Management to handle non-pharmaceutical conferences and incentive group travel. The sister companies will host monthly industry lunches for preferred suppliers at their Fox Studios office and award an “Our Heroes” trophy to the supplier who has helped most with making their programs among the best in the MICE industry. Some meeting and event planners recently enjoyed a famil to Myall Shores Resort, hosted by EcoPoint Resorts, with overnight accommodation and dinner Friday night, breakfast on board the “Emily Ada” on Saturday morning, and a site inspection of the resort before heading back to Sydney with Hawkesfords Luxury Coaches. A mixture of PCOs from Queensland, NSW and Victoria embarked on the Northern Exposure famil organised by the Tasmanian Convention Bureau during late-June. The group, pictured here at Cradle Mountain, had the chance to visit Launceston and the Tamar Valley, experiencing gorgeous wineries and restaurants, and of course the very beautiful Cradle Mountain.

freshcatering recently hosted a group of elite event managers at Sydney’s newest conference venue Fraser Suites. Guests were greeted with mandarin martinis, fine wine and fresh canapés, and after inspecting the slick new conference facilities at Fraser Suites, dined on beef bourguignonne, local and imported cheeses and freshly shucked oysters on the mezzanine grazing table.
