EVENT: The Mary Kay Asia Pacific’s NSD 2007 Summit
VENUES: Zambia, Sun City and Cape Town
AGENCY: Direct
GROUP SIZE: 119 pax
DATE OF EVENT: May 1 to May 7, 2007
ORGANISERS: Green Route

EVENT BRIEF: The event was an incentive program for employees of Mary Kay Asia Pacific in Cape Town and Sun City to be held during the month of May 2007 for seven days. The delegate profile included well-travelled top achievers with high expectations of top-quality accommodation and service. Personal safety and security was a top priority as most of the delegates were female. The client wanted to involve a hotel that was preferably an international chain of hotels with a five-star rating. The itinerary involved staggered airport arrivals and departures, full-day tours, conferencing with simultaneous interpretation for English, Korean and Mandarin, and an off-site gala dinner.

CHALLENGES: Delegates were from all over Asia so there were some unexpected challenges with visas. There were also some challenges at airports, and hotel service levels were not quite always as expected.

EXECUTION: The action-packed program started with the top achievers Inner Circle visiting the majestic Victoria Falls while accommodated in the luxurious five-star Royal Livingstone Hotel overlooking the mighty Zambezi River. Afterwards, all the delegates met up at the Palace of the Lost City, ending in Cape Town at the Table Bay Hotel. Highlights included the Torch Lighting Ceremony at Shawu in the Palace of the Lost City, a Boma Dinner under the stars, Table Mountain and the Cape of Good Hope, and a grand gala dinner at the exclusive President’s residence, Groote Schuur Estate.
Wow factors included an early morning hot air ballooning and safari experience in the Pilanesburg National Park, the Children’s Choir at the Torch Lighting Ceremony, vintage car transfers and the fire dance entertainers at Groote Schuur Estate.

CLIENT’S COMMENT: “I wish to extend my thanks and appreciation to the Green Route team who looked after the members of the Mary Kay Sales Force during their recent trip to Livingstone, Sun City and Capetown. The Green Route team must be commended for their patience, efforts and warmth to our group. It was a pleasure to have them onboard with our people. Much can be said about South Africa as a great destination, but much more can be said when her people are from Green Route!” - K.K. Chua, President, Mary Kay Asia Pacific Pty Ltd.
