Six corporate clients of FCm Consultants couldn’t believe how much there was to do in Rotorua during their recent familiarisation which was held in conjunction with Novotel Lakeside Rotorua and local activity operators. The six corporate clients from Auckland stayed at the Novotel Lakeside Rotorua hotel during their visit. While in Rotorua the group experienced activities such as The Zorb, Agro Adventures, Off Road NZ, The Duck and luging to dinner at Skyline Skyrides. “At the end of the famil the group realised that Rotorua is more than the spectacular geothermal and richness of Maori culture but also an adventure capital in its own right,” said Novotel Lakeside general manager, Klaus Gottschalk. It is important for clients and agents to experience Rotorua first hand as it makes the process of selling the destination that much easier, he adds.

And still in Rotorua, another group of the country’s top professional conference organisers (PCOs) were treated to a taste of Rotorua and its attractions recently, and have given the city the “thumbs up” as a versatile conference and events destination. They were part of an Event Venues Rotorua marketing initiative to showcase Rotorua’s impressive array of venues and attractions, aimed at securing more lucrative conference-type events for the city. PCOs from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, and Nelson were chauffeured around a range of attractions and activities and were impressed with the new Energy Events Centre where an illuminated oasis centred in the darkened Unison Arena provided a sumptuous and unique dining experience.
