Specialising in the convention and incentive market, Focus New Zealand, a division of the long-established Grand Pacific Tours, provides fundamental assistance for Australian groups wanting to hold their events in New Zealand.

These services include registration, arranging Trans Tasman flights, venue and accommodation requirements, including assistance with venue selection, airport transfers, daily coach requirements, ground management, creation of full touring itineraries including pre and post conference, half and full-day tour options, plus the creation and development of partner programs during the event, hospitality desk management, and assistance with all delegate documentation.

General manager of Focus New Zealand, Stacia Morris, says the company has already been working on group programs, including the 2006 Inner Wheel Convention in Christchurch where 800 touring options were taken up.

Events they are working on in 2007 include the 2007 Seed Convention, 2007 World Heritage Convention, which are both being held in Christchurch, and the 2007 Aust & NZ Intensive Care Society Convention in Rotorua.
“The other area of demand [that we are finding] is the creation of specialist New Zealand itineraries for `stay put’ or `multi-regional incentive programs’,” she says.
“We have completed a five-day Queenstown stay put for Radio 2G0, 11-day incentive itinerary for Frontline Stores, an eight-day post-conference South Island Tour for Freemasons, and a nine-day South Island incentive tour for Nature’s Sunshine Products.
“New Zealand is the number one destination for Australians travelling abroad and as you know a very popular choice for the MICE market. As a destination specialist our aim is to work with corporate clients, associations and PCOs to manage the specialist parts of groups travelling to New Zealand. Our motto is: `When experience counts call Focus New Zealand.’”
