A change of scene

This year, The Hotel Grand Chancellor was honoured to be one of the key sponsors for the MEA conference. This annual event gave us the opportunity to showcase our multi-faceted facilities and Hobart as an ideal conference location, combining city convenience with old world charm. Morning and afternoon teas were a highlight for delegates and we also witnessed the talented hotel GM juggling Tasmanian apples!

The Hotel Grand Chancellor Federation Concert Hall and Convention Centre is the ideal venue for a successful and memorable event. The venue can host up to 1100 delegates and has the capacity for substantial trade booths, plenary, break-outs and banquets. The stunning views of the magnificent Constitution Dock and Derwent River are captured from the hotel’s lobby and mezzanine levels. Whatever the event, we can provide you with outstanding options ensuring your delegates experience a first-class conference in a setting that is of significant historic importance to Australia.

When You’re Planning Your Event - Wouldn’t You Prefer Some Inspiration?
Staging Connections was a Diamond sponsor of the MEA National Conference in Hobart. Our involvement with Meetings & Events Australia goes back many years, and we were once again proud to support MEA. As a Diamond Sponsor of the conference, our team, led by general manager (Tasmania) Adam Webb, delivered the audio-visual component of the Grand Chancellor conference sessions as well as other off-site daily events such as YMEA Leaders Forum, Leaders lunch, Accredited Cocktail Party, Woolstore meetings and Bean around the World workshop. The Hobart team were efficient and friendly and seemed able to juggle all the audiovisual tasks at hand with ease. They worked on pre-production and planning, through setup, execution and pack down. The fantastic team onsite were Dan Lourenco, Felicity Wyker, Toby Treptow, Colin Boucher, Aaron Wells, John Friend, Tim Mason, Ashley Lewis and Francis Smith.

LI’TYA were proud sponsors of the MEA Conference 2007. Each delegate was presented with a deluxe gift pack including a selection of LI’TYA’s Indigenous inspired, all-natural potent botanical range of luxury spa care products from the Australian Dreamtime. It was a chance for the Australian made and owned company to showcase their huge range of corporate gift solutions including their world renowned spa care products as well as delegate and spousal treatment packages at one of their many spa partners worldwide.
The LI’TYA spa experience is revered across the globe, integrating the purest of native ingredients with ancient Aboriginal healing techniques to create the ultimate in relaxation and renewal of the spirit. For information on LI’TYA products, treatments and philosophy please go to www.litya.com or call (03) 9587 7088.

It was our pleasure to join the honourable list of MEA Sponsors for the 2007 conference held in Hobart. We were able to assist with marketing initiatives, editorial reports, sponsor recognition pages and the printing of some collateral. Working with the organisers was a real eye-opener having realised the huge effort that goes into organising an event of this nature, particularly within our own industry when we’re surrounded by experts.
mice.net magazine, containing the MEA newsletter, is Australia’s leading and only award-winning meetings events magazine and takes pride in maintaining its editorial integrity by publishing gutsy, hard-hitting and often controversial news and lead stories. mice.net has paved the way with its multi media options and modern design which ensures reader interest and loyalty is maintained.
Bravo to all the other sponsors!

Ovations Speakers Bureau deserves a standing ovation for their efforts in orchestrating some top national business speakers to present at the MEA National Conference 2007. The team worked closely with MEA in assessing balance and maintaining MEA speaker program objectives. Ovations support in obtaining Bernard Salt, Yossi Ghinsberg, Peter Baines, Avril Henry and Belinda Yabsley as conference speakers was appreciated by MEA and delegates alike. Ovations were also rewarded as winner at the MEA Meetings & Events Industry Award for Conference Support Services.
Ovations International are proud to offer nearly two decades of events experience, allowing us to source and advise on any speaker, entertainer and workshop facilitator in Australia. Our team of consultants pay in-depth attention to your needs and desired outcomes, enabling us to source the perfect speaker or entertainer for your audience and budget.
