NZSki is making the ski season even easier for groups with new advanced technology that will mean less queuing to get to the top of the mountain. The mypass radio frequency ID card has a microchip, is the size of a credit card, and will enable guests to load products online and go straight to the lifts instead of queuing at customer service.
This is good news for professional conference organisers and event planners who will be able to pre-load the cards online allowing delegates to easily get around the mountain. They work by being worn in a ski jacket pocket, similar to most ski lift passes, and will be automatically scanned through the access passageways.
This system has already been successfully utilised in many North American and European ski areas, but NZSki’s fully integrated store card is a world first. The cards are available for free and guests will be able to pay for everything from lift passes to ski hire rentals before getting to the mountain. Card holders can also reload additional products on a daily basis by using on-mountain kiosks, computer or smart phone locations. As well as providing a seamless ski experience, the card also tracks the number of runs and vertical metres each guest has covered in real time.
