Stars and chefs grease F1 ticket sales
SINGAPORE – Demonstrating the pulling power of star wattage, four categories of tickets to the 2010 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix were sold out last month soon after organisers announced a star-studded entertainment line-up featuring Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott, Daughtry and Adam Lambert, among others.
The three-day Zone 4 Walkabout tickets, Premier Walkabout, Republic Grandstand (Turn 3) and Connaught Grandstand are sold out, and at press time, almost all the Pit Grandstand tickets had also been taken up for the event which runs from September 24 to 26.
Executive director of race promoter Singapore GP, Michael Roche, said: “With one race ticket, patrons can watch that day’s headliners at the LG Live Padang stage and entertainment performances in their respective zone(s) for free. They will not need to purchase a separate concert ticket.”
Patrons are also being wooed with quality f&b. Celebrity chef Jean Georges Vongerichten and his team of international chefs will be cooking in the dedicated lifestyle area of the Formula One Paddock Club. Singapore GP is presenting 30 wine and dine establishments across the Marina Bay Street Circuit (up from 19 last year).
