Palace wing of The Taj Mahal Palace hotel restored

MUMBAI – The Taj Mahal Palace has re-opened its Palace wing following an extensive restoration project after terrorists stormed its premises two years ago.

The iconic Mumbai landmark, owned by Indian Hotels Company, had renovations overseen by Lissoni Associati Milano, BAMO Spain, LTW Design Works of Kuala Lumpur and James Park Associates, Singapore.

The Taj Mahal Palace Club rooms, Grande Luxury rooms and themed Grande Suites in the Palace Wing have been appointed with original artwork, state-of-the-art technology and interactive multimedia. The restoration also included facelifts for the hotel’s Sea Lounge, Zodiac Grill, Souk, Masala Kraft, Aquarius, Shamiana, Starboard and La Patisserie. Also renovated is The Taj Mahal Palace Ballroom.

“We are delighted to welcome The Taj Mahal Palace back to the Leading Family,” The Leading Hotels of the World Asia-Pacific vice-president, Mr Philip Ho, said.

A special Taj Mahal Palace relaunch promotion of 10 per cent discount on Best Available Rate (BAR) with breakfast for Leaders Club members is available from now until December 31, 2010.
